Aalap isn’t the type to stay in one lane. Engineering? Check. Hindustani Classical vocals? Also check. Instead of choosing between resistors and ragas, he decided to mix them—designing and producing guitar pedals, MIDI drums, and other music gear that blend technical precision with artistic expression. He has played in multiple bands, started his own studio (Aalap Studios), and dabbles in just about every genre—Blues, Jazz, Rock, Unplugged, Indian Classical—you name it. Now, he’s studying engineering in Germany while performing in a big band and as a solo Jazz pianist. For Aalap, music and technology aren’t separate—they’re two sides of the same coin, and he constantly tries blending them in new ways.
